Model Interviews

Rebecca Boggs

I've been following Rebecca Boggs for quite some time now, and I'm thrilled to finally get this interview up! Believe it or not, she looks as herself as more of an actress than as a model. Her goal is to becomes a successful actress and director, and with her look, she won't have any trouble at all! Her Instagram is filled with lifestyle photos, as well as professional shots from her photoshoots. She is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm excited to include her in my series. Check out the interview below:

OTC: What’s your name?

RB: Rebecca Boggs, but I go by Becky Boggs

OTC: How old are you?

RB: 24 years old

OTC: How did you get into modeling?

RB: I was scouted by a New York agent the summer before I left for college. I did a couple jobs with him but I had a bad experience with him and thus quit the industry. However, I stumbled upon a great agency while attending college in Charleston, SC and decided to sign with them and give the industry another try. It went better the second time :)

OTC: Who takes most of your pictures?

RB: I test with a bunch of people, no photographer in particular.

OTC: Are you signed to an agency?

RB: Yes, right now I'm signed in both New York City and Miami. But I'm looking to expand into other markets.

OTC: How did you get into acting?

RB: Ever since I can remember I've always known that I was meant to act. However, I was in my first play when I was 8 years old. At a local theater Company I played Peter Pan in the play Peter Pan. I was hooked (pun intended) but didn't take the career seriously up until almost a year ago. An actor's career is not stereotypically practical so I knew it would be a huge risk and that I'd have to be extremely serious and persistent with it, but it's 1000% worth it. I finally give my true passion the attention it deserves and I couldn't be happier. You only live once :)

OTC: Where are you from originally?

RB: Philadelphia

OTC: What’s your strongest memory of your childhood?

RB: It's a private one that I don't want to share at the moment.

OTC: If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

RB: Costa Rica. Well, I plan on moving there eventually when I want to settle down and raise a family (FYI: A looooong time from now). I think an island environment would be an ideal place to do that.

OTC: Do you travel a lot?

RB: Yes

OTC: Which country that you’ve been to is your favorite and why?

RB: Italy. Florence made me feel like I was living in a Dollhouse. The roads and buildings were so perfect and made of gorgeous stone. The tiny streets and vineyard views were breathtaking. It's one of the most beautiful places I've been. The food doesn't hurt either ;)

OTC: Do you go to school? If so, what are you studying?

RB: I got my Bachelors at the College of Charleston in SC. I studied Communication, specifically Advertising. I actually worked as an account executive in an advertising agency for a few months before I decided to pursue acting and modeling full time.

OTC: What has been your favorite photoshoot/campaign so far?

RB: That's a hard question. I love them all. Maybe my first commercial I ever did because it was thrilling for it to be the first one. It was for Sunoco. I had to be the girlfriend role for a professional motocross rider. I had to kiss him and he was really shy, I basically talked him through it. It was hilarious (hope he doesn't ever read this). The crew were also super nice, I still stay in touch with them today.

OTC: Is having a good connection with the photographer important to you?

RB: Yes. If I don't have a good connection with the photographer it shows. I try to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere as soon as I meet them.

OTC: Who is your favorite photographer and why?

RB: I don't think it would politically correct for me to say :)

OTC: Do you have a special ritual you do before or after a photoshoot?

RB: Eat healthy before, eat a burger after.

OTC: Have you made any friends in the modeling industry? How do you help each other?

RB: Yes, nearly all my friends are in the modeling or acting industry. It's a small circle so it's nice to help each other out with gigs. Say if I don't have time for a job and if the client is open to it, I refer my friend to the client. We help each other out all the time, it's great to see everyone succeed.

OTC: Do you practice poses or do they just come naturally to you?

RB: Naturally, but if I'm unsure of myself I'll ask the photographer to see the photos to make sure I like the direction I'm going in.

OTC: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done to get the perfect shot?

RB: Went into the ocean in January. And that shot wasn't even used!

OTC: What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened to you on set?

RB: I once had to lay in a bathtub for 10 hours for a commercial. It was more relaxing than crazy...

OTC: Would you rather model swimsuits or lingerie?

RB: I love both equally!

OTC: Who is your favorite model at the moment and why?

RB: Adriana Lima. She seems like a beautiful and poised woman. I've liked her since I was little.

OTC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

RB: Working on many films. Both acting and directing.

OTC: Professionally, what’s your goal?

RB: Exactly what I said above :) I want to be both acting in and directing many films that make a difference in people's lives.

OTC: Tell me about the editing process for your Instagram photos.

RB: I rarely edit them. I'll do a filter here and there but i'm not too aggressive with social media.

OTC: What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

RB: Drink 2 glasses of lemon water and head to the gym.

OTC: Tell me about your diet and workout routine.

RB: I try to eat as organic as possible however, when I go out to eat with friends I eat more casually. I try to workout every morning but I don't freak out if I miss a day or two. I'm always being active throughout my day, walking everywhere and having fun with sports. Also, drinking lots of water. Being healthy is a lifestyle for me.

OTC: What are 5 things you can’t live without?

RB: Nature, passion, love, animals, and chocolate covered strawberries!

OTC: What superpower would you have and why?

RB: The ability to speak every language fluently. I meet a lot of amazing people from different countries especially living in NYC and being in this industry, however, there tends to be some level of a language barrier. I feel like I'm missing out on knowing the real them sometimes, and it saddens me.

OTC: What’s your scariest experience?

RB: I've had a good amount of them because I enjoy pushing myself. However, I lived in South Africa for 6 months during college and had pretty intense culture shock so that's up there.

OTC: Are you an early bird, or a night owl?

RB: Early bird for sure. I love how quiet mornings are.

OTC: Sun or snow?

RB: Sun. I can't handle the cold for long, but I do think snow is beautiful.

OTC: Boats or jet skis?

RB: Jet skis, I like going fast!

OTC: Dresses or skirts?

RB: Dresses. They're easier to just throw on. No color matching or any of that other time consuming bullshit.

OTC: Books or movies?

RB: Movies of course!

OTC: Hugs or kisses?

RB: Gotta have both.

OTC: Silver or gold?

RB: Gold

OTC: Singing or dancing?

RB: I love both.... but I guess I'm better at dancing haha

OTC: Tattoos or piercings?

RB: I don't have either but I think a tattoo or two can look nice.

OTC: Money or fame?

RB: ... Influence.

OTC: Washing dishes or doing laundry?

RB: Laundry, love them fresh outta the dryer clothes!

OTC: Cooking or eating?

RB: Ahhh I don't know. That's hard, but I guess eating. I have a weird obsession with chopping garlic though.

OTC: Spicy or mild?

RB: Mild

OTC: Grammy or Oscar?

RB: Oscar

OTC: Long or short hair?

RB: Long

OTC: Netflix or chill?

RB: I'm a Capricorn, I'm not too keen on relaxing.

OTC: Wine or beer?

RB: Red wine and the hoppiest beer

OTC: What’s your favorite drink?

RB: Lemon Water. If it has to be alcoholic, then a pina colada

OTC: Do you go clubbing a lot?

RB: No

OTC: What’s your favorite shot and why?

RB: None. I don't drink a lot.

OTC: Would you ever buy a guy a drink at a club/bar?

RB: No, not tryna pick up a guy at a place like that.

OTC: Tell me about your craziest night out.

RB: I'm not much of a partier, but every time my hometown best friends visit we have the most hilarious times.

OTC: What do you do when you’re Off The Clock?

RB: Acting is 1,000% my passion. I'm happiest when I'm doing it and I try to incorporate it into everyday one way or another. But I also enjoy nature and being active. So running, paddle boarding, horseback riding, and exploring new places is also fun for me.

OTC: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

RB: Great White Shark cage diving in Cape Town.

OTC: Have you ever been skinny dipping?

RB: Yes.
